The right fragrance for you!

Do you opt to have a signature scent that everybody will recognize and remember you by or, do you treat your fragrance as an accessory, and change it daily depending on your mood and outfit?Whatever your poison is, we need to get to the basics and find out which perfume is most suitable for us.

Which fragrance is right for you? That depends on who you are and what you like and the occasion.   Fragrances can be divided into one of four categories: fresh greens, woody ambry, floral fruity, and oriental spicy. About 75 percent of perfumes contain some trace of rose and jasmine extracts, but the amount present varies in each fragrance.

Moreover, perfumes usually contain thousands of other ingredients and chemicals, many of which actively alter the scent. Here are the main  scents groups that dominate the perfume industry.

Fresh Greens

fresh greens parfumThese perfumes have a smell similar to grass, leaves, and herbs. They smell “clean” fresh and suite women with vibrant, sporty personalities. Women who like to change the perfume they wear by occasion might consider a fresh green scent for outdoor daytime use.

These scents also tend toward the unisex, so are best left on the shelf when you’re dressing to impress a hot date. Leave them for daytime instead, when their sporty, modern appeal makes works well in a casual or outdoor gathering.

Wear one to cheer on your favourite rugby team, at the golfing range, or on a flea market amble with friends. Examples of these perfumes are Chanel No. 19, Ralph Lauren Safari, Escada Sport Country Weekend, Sung Alfred Sung, Escada Magnetism, Adidas Adrenaline Woman.

Woody

woody parfum These  woody type of scents have a playful innocence and romance about them. Fragrances belonging to this category often use rich scents like orchid, orange flowers, vanilla, sweet spices, incense, and musk.   These exotic perfumes can be used at any time, but work well in the evening.

Women wanting a warm, mysterious, and distinctly feminine scent should look into this category. Oriental perfumes are an important attraction or accesory, equivalent of cleavage and a killer pair of stilettos.   The effect is a bold yet mysterious perfume that makes a big entrance, sips on a few cocktails, and leaves with phone numbers in her pocket.

Wear one when you want to seduce, whether it’s a third date or just a rare night out without the kids. Examples include Elizabeth Taylor Black Pearls, Guerlain Shalimar, Givenchy Organza, Yves Saint Laurent Opium, and Versace Crystal Noir.

Floral fruity

floral fuityFloral fruity are similar to woodsy ambry scents but usually involve more of a floral element. These scents are developed around a specific flower or fruit. They scents are excellent for daytime use.

They are sweet and romantic, and fall under the “good girls” of the fragrance aisle. Florals are sometimes single note, but generally combine the scents of various flowers to create a classic feminine appeal.

Spritz on a floral when you want to show off (or fake) your sweet-and-girly side — when meeting your boyfriend’s parents comes to mind.   These scents are also appropriate at church, the ballet, or your best friend’s wedding, especially if you’ve got your eye on an eligible groom. Examples include Chanel No 5, Karl Lagerfeld Chloe, Lancome Tresor and Anna Sui

Oriental Spicy

These fragrances include a wide range of warm scents. These have traces of amber, sandalwood, cedar, and various spices. The mixture of spices is what gives this scent family such versatility.

Woody scents are built on base notes of bark and moss, conjuring winding forest paths. They evoke a particular brand of no-nonsense femininity.   This strong and classic appeal translates well to the corporate office.

Wear one to your next performance review. Examples include Estee Lauder Knowing, Chanel No. 19, Britney Spears Believe, Ralph Lauren Romance, and Gucci Envy Me
